Contrary to popular belief, England actually offer some of the finest holidays in Europe. While you certainly won’t be expecting so much sun and sand like you would in other holiday destinations, there are some particularly pleasant beach resorts in the United Kingdom and they are not too crowded either.

In times of recession, short breaks in England make for a viable alternative and there is certainly no shortage of places to visit. If you’re looking for a beach holiday, then there are certain resorts which are usually find in the summer months or you could go up to East Anglia which is much less populous and much to the rest of the country and is also home to some fine beaches.

The visitors some of the gems such as Cornwall and Devon all the Cotswolds is sure not to disappoint even the most demanding amongst tourists. The Lake District is also an ideal place to go for nature lovers. Getting around is not difficult since of course you can take your own car or hire one and you will be familiar with everything.

If you’re looking to see distinct cultures and have a more peaceful holiday, then Cornwall and Devon might be good choices. The Cotswolds is a particularly pleasant area and though it is fairly expensive, it boasts some of the finest scenery and beautiful towns in the country. If you are a nature lover, then the Lake District is certainly worth a visit.

If you want to experience the English countryside, then you should consider renting a holiday cottage. There are so many holiday cottages on offer in all areas of the country and this will give you a fantastic insight into the local way of life.
